These are the areas that you might expect to see in the book but we couldn't put them in. Reasons include:

• Private land used commercially or with permission for recreation. We would love to map some of these areas like we did with Hidden Vale.
• Private land which riders use without permission.
• Reserves whose land managers have granted permission elsewhere but not here, eg seqwater - we live in hope.
• Reserves whose land managers are very selective about permission, eg BCC.

Some of these areas are used with permission for Mountain Bike Orienteering or other events (marked **).

If we got any of our facts wrong here do please let us know.

Noosa National Park - cycling is forbidden throughout the park all the way south to Coolum including Emu/Peregian Mountain.

Sheepstation Creek - a recent review of riding here by MBRC did not end well for MTB. The horseriding lobby regards fast-moving bikes as a threat. They lobbied better than we did.

Brisbane City Council (BCC) forbids cycling on dirt in all reserves except Mount Coot-tha.

Brisbane Koala Bushlands, Karawatha, Minnippi**, Seven Hills, Toohey - all BCC. It is a commonly held misconception that cycling is permitted in Karawatha.

Chuwar** - seqwater forbids cycling in the bushland west of Mount Crosby Weir.

Lake Manchester Park** - (Mount Crosby) ex seqwater land south of Lake Manchester Road; BCC.

Murrenbong** - scout camp in Kurwongbah, near Petrie.

Samsonvale - seqwater forbids cycling on the extensive track network around the lake.

Tyamolum** - scout camp southwest of Moggill Forest.

Chocolate Buddha - west of Daisy Hill; private land earmarked for development.

Karingal** - scout camp east of Eastern Escarpment.

Kindilan** - scout camp north of Bayview.

Venman Bushland National Park - east of Daisy Hill; local opposition means that this area is for walkers only.

Gatton National Park is right at the business end of Gatton Rifle Range. It is closed to visitors for a period during target practice each Saturday, and we are informed that it should not be published as an MTB destination.

Raleigh Park** - private land out towards Warwick.

Illinbah** - private land available only during club events.

Kooralbyn - private land no longer used for events.

Nerang Singletrack - the extensive network of singletrack that we have not shown on the Nerang page is illegal. The good news is that it looks like this will change soon.

Yarrabilba - a large area of private land to the west of Plunkett Conservation Park; marked for development. This name is also used for Plunkett - see the Possibles page.
