Here are some areas we are considering for a future edition. If you can't see your favourite ride here maybe it's already mapped and on the Additions page or on the Rejects List for one reason or another. If you have a suggestion please Contact Us.

Bicentennial National Trail

The BNT traverses SEQ north to south and crosses some of the maps in the Fourth Edition - BVRT at Blackbutt, Spicers Gap, Condamine Gorge. It also appears as some of the maps in the Third Edition which did not make it into the Fourth Edition - Mount Perry, Maryborough, Nanango to Blackbutt, Benarkin - each of these appears below. Take a look at www.nationaltrail.com.au or here are some maps.

Mount Perry (BNT)

This is a section of the BNT - see BNT book 4; here it is in the Third Edition.

Maryborough (BNT)

This is BNT book 5 map 6; here it is in the Third Edition.

Amamoor

Amamoor State Forest is on the Mary Valley Highway between Kenilworth and Gympie.

Ringtail

See the new map on the Additions page.

Bellthorpe East

There is more great riding east of the area shown on the Bellthorpe page in the Fourth Edition, so we may extend this map towards Woodford.

Imbil / Conondale

See the new map on the Additions page.

Jimna

Jimna State Forest is immediately west of Conondale with legal riding on forest roads. Take a look on the NPRSR website.

Beerburrum East, Beerwah, Luttons, Ningi

The Glass House Mountains area shown in the Fourth Edition is surrounded by further extensive plantation State Forests which are great riding if not quite as picturesque. You can link these together into epic one-way rides.

Bunya Crossing

This short and easy family-friendly ride alongside and across the South Pine River in Bunya / Eatons Creek / Eatons Hill was badly damaged by floodwater in early 2011. It is close to the northern side of the Bunyaville map in the Fourth Edition; here it is (at top left) in the Third Edition.

Access from the south at the end of Dugandan Road, Bunya 4055 : UBD 117 Q1 : Brisway 477 M3 : Gregory's 187 E1 or from the north at the end of Bunya Crossing Road, Eatons Hill 4037 : UBD 107 R19 : Brisway 477 M2 : Gregory's 167 E19.

White Rock - Spring Mountain

South of Redbank Plains in Ipswich City, the White Rock - Spring Mountain Conservation Estate has a network of fire trails. Ipswich City Council has identified two trails as suitable for mountain biking, but there are many more:

  • White Rock Trail is 6.5km out-and-back, largely flat and suitable for novices, finishing at White Rock.
  • Yaddamun Trail is 19km out-and-back and more challenging.

Access from Paperbark Flats Picnic Area at the end of School Road, Redbank Plains 4301 : UBD 255 J3 : Brisway 615 E6 : Gregory's 363 L20.

For more details consult Ipswich City Council.

We have a draft map for this area; please let us know if you would like to see it.

Cornubia

Cornubia Forest Park is a new(ish) reserve with 11km of legal singletrack. Signage and parking had not yet been established by Logan City Council in 2011 so they were unwilling to promote its use in the Fourth Edition. It can be found southeast of Daisy Hill between Plantain Road and West Mount Cotton Road.

Enter at the end of Kimberley Drive, Shailer Park 4128 : UBD 243 R9 : Brisway 603 N12 : Gregory's 376 F9.
or near the end of Parkview Crescent, Cornubia 4130 : UBD 244 D13 : Brisway 603 R17 : Gregory's 376 K13.

We have a draft map for this area; please let us know if you would like to see it.

Judy Holt Reserve

Scribbly Gums

See the new map on the Additions page.

Nanango to Blackbutt (BNT)

BNT book 5, maps 14 & 15 through East Nanango State Forest, Old Coach Track and Seven Mile Diggings appeared in the Third Edition. This area is north of the BVRT Yarraman - Blackbutt page in the Fourth Edition. There are also some signed trails around Blackbutt.

Yarraman

Yarraman State Forest is a sizeable area with a gigantic power station in the middle of it. It is west of the BVRT Yarraman-Benarkin page in the Fourth Edition. Take a look on the NPRSR website.

Benarkin (BNT)

The section of BNT passing through Benarkin State Forest appears in BNT book 6 map 1 and on the BVRT Benarkin - Moore page in the Fourth Edition. Benarkin Forest Drive is a nice ride south from Benarkin to campsites at Emu Creek and Clancys Camp. Take a look on the NPRSR website.

Glen Rock

Glen Rock National Park is 42km south of Gatton in the Lockyer Valley. From the Casuarina Day Use Area there is a single trail south alongside Blackfellow Creek 20km up to the Top Yards.

Plunkett (Yarrabilba)

Plunkett Conservation Park, Wickham National Park and Wickham Timber Reserve are north of Tamborine. This area has some easy family-friendly trails near the Flesser Road trailhead and also some rather unfriendly trails further out. Access from Flesser Road, Cedar Creek 4207 : UBD 304 C15 : Brisway 683 C13 : Gregory's 495 F9. This area is informally known as "Yarrabilba" which is actually the name of the area of private land earmarked for development immediately to the west.

We have a draft map for this area; please let us know if you would like to see it.

Mount Nathan / Clagiraba

Lower Beechmont Conservation Area, Clagiraba Reserve and Mount Nathan Reserve are a group of Council reserves west and south of Nerang Forest on the Gold Coast. Gold Coast City Council is looking into opening them up for riding.
